Piano Wars! Dueling Pianos

Photos By, Keevan Cole, Jason Scarcelli, Dave Caruso

One of the highlights of dueling pianos shows at clubs and night spots is the "Showtime" dance routine, led by the venue's wait staff and all of the dueling pianos entertainers about once every hour throughout the evening.

Each member of the audience is encouraged to get into the act by joining the wait staff in an easy-to-learn dance routine, performed to familiar songs right at their table.  No previous dance experience is required!

Dave Caruso is often hired to train dueling piano bar wait staff personnel to fire up their sections with Showtime dance routines that are sure to make everyone smile.

It's exciting to see the staff hop up on the bar and the pianos every hour to lead the audience in clapping, singing and dancing.  It's also a great change of pace for the audience and an opportunity to switch out the dueling piano entertainers with a fresh team for the next set.

Showtime dance numbers are usually followed by one or more songs with all of the dueling pianists performing together as a band, using pianos, drums and sometimes other instruments.  They usually feature lots of harmonies.  Here's the finished product with the audience joining in the fun at Rum Runners in Mishwaka, Indiana.
